My passion for design started in high school with a photography/design class. I was hooked the first day. After high school I enrolled in college majoring in Graphic Design. In the beginning I didn’t really know what the world of design entailed, all I knew is I liked to make things look good.
It wasn’t until I joined the team at Delaney Matrix that I had a real taste of the design community. It was a whirlwind of activity. Some projects had a turn around of a day and others months but whatever was thrown at me I dove in and got things done.
In 2007 I had the opportunity to work with the wonderful people at Wild Pete Publishing. I can honestly say I learned more there than I ever learned at school. I accepted the job not having ever used QuarkXPress or FileMaker Pro and within a few months I could crank out an ad in Quark and had built several fully functional databases to help track ads, contacts and jobs. Design for me is not just about throwing things on paper. It is about finding the identity of a company, their personality and their passion, and molding that into visual communication that tells their potential clients “This is us. This is what we are about. This is what we believe in. Join us.”
